Frequently Asked Questions

Assistive home automation is a set of technologies aimed at people who require special care or assistance and whose objective is to allow the creation of a protected domestic environment, through solutions that contribute to extending the person’s abilities, encouraging their independence.

An assistive home automation system can act on several fronts. From the point of view of autonomy, with a series of automated systems that allow people with mobility difficulties to have autonomous control of the house, allowing them to perform actions that would otherwise be laborious or impossible to carry out such as, for example, raise the blinds or open a door. Home automation systems also simplify the management of lighting and air conditioning in the home.

From the point of view of safety, with solutions aimed at people who have cognitive difficulties and who are not able to use the technologies. These solutions aim to ensure the correct functioning of the systems and, above all, to signal dangerous situations such as gas leaks, water leaks, fire principles, falls or abnormal activities.

Assistive home automation systems are aimed at people with mobility difficulties, slight cognitive impairments, people with chronic and / or degenerative diseases that limit their autonomy and, in general, to elderly people.

Assistive home automation systems are designed to integrate seamlessly with existing domestic installations in the user’s home environment and with minimal impact on home furnishings and aesthetics.

From a functional point of view, assistive home automation systems are designed to interact discreetly with the user, through simple and intuitive interfaces and requiring user interaction only if strictly necessary.

In general, these systems are characterized by a high degree of flexibility and can easily be scaled and adapted based on the needs of individual users.

Yes, assistive home automation systems are designed to offer users a non-invasive, simple and intuitive user experience that does not require long and tedious training phases.

Although at the base of an assistive domotics system there are advanced and very sophisticated technologies, even a user without particular skills in the use of technology will be able to use the system without difficulty, thanks to simple and intuitive interfaces.

Certainly. The project involves the creation of an Info Point which can be contacted for more information and details on assistive technologies and related applications.

Further information will be available on the project website and on the websites indicated in the “Useful Links” section of the website.

Yes, it is possible. In fact, the project involves the creation of two “Info Days”, during which it will be possible to watch demos and / or try out the assistive technologies developed.

To find out the exact dates in which the Info Days will be organized and how to participate, refer to the News section of the project website.

If you are a company interested in joining the NATIFLife Network, you can register on the Information Portal from the project website home page by clicking on the yellow “enjoy your ADVANTAGES” button and following the registration procedure.
